Pre-Health Programs

Rutgers-Newark has several programs for undergraduate students and bachelors degree holders interested in pursuing a career in medicine:

• Any undergraduate student can pursue the general pre-med program by successfully completing the required courses.
• High School seniors who are interested in pursuing a career in medicine can apply to the highly competitive 7 Year BA/MD program.
• Current undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing a career in medicine can apply to the BA/MD dual degree program in their sophmore year.
• Current undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing a career in dentistry can apply to the BA/DMD dual degree program in their sophmore year.
• College graduates who currently hold a non-science bachelor's degree and are interested in pursuing a career in medicine can apply to the Post-Baccalaureate Program.
